Stračov

Stračov ( German Straczow, also Stratschow, 1939-45: Elsterhof ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers north of Nechanic and belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.

Geography

Stračov is located in the southern foothills of the mountain Horschitzer country on a ridge.

Neighboring towns are Milovice u Hořic and Cenov in the north, Klenice in the northeast, dub and Mžany in the east, in the southeast Stračovská Lhota, Nerošov and Sucha in the south, Pšánky the southwest, Petrovičky in the west and Bříšťany in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Stračov place in the year 1358th The district Klenice since 1318 documentary evidence. With its central location on a major trade route to Stračov developed into a regional center. In 1495 King Vladislav II Stračov got to town and granted the privilege to hold a weekly market.

Stračov was the seat of a small rule to their owners belonged to a variety of noble families. In the mid-18th century, Johann Anton von Breda owner of the goods. He built a baroque mansion instead of the festivities. In 1800, the citizens of Prague Prokop acquired nuclear dominion, and was the manor house remodel the castle. After Franz de Paula Ernst Graf Harrach had bought in 1838 by Barbara Stračov core and connected to the rule Sadová, the castle lost its function as a manor. Harrach had the Hradek u Nechanic palace built as a new representative seat. The castle in Stračov was used for administrative purposes and the goods affiliated Stračov in Pšánky the Gutverwaltung.

After the abolition of patrimonial Stračov formed a municipality in the district of Hradec Kralove. In 1869 Stračov had 607 inhabitants. The municipality consists of the villages Stračov Klenice ( Klenitz ) and Stračov ( Straczow ) and the monolayer Cenov ( Czenow ).

  • Castle Stračov, the two-storey neo-classical building was erected in 1800 for Prokop core by modification of a baroque manor house. From 1839 it was used as the administrative seat and fell into disrepair. 1935, the castle by the landowner J. Fišera was repaired and removed the upper floor. 1988 acquired the State Research Library in Hradec Králové the Castle of František Fišera. After the Velvet Revolution, the castle came into the possession of the community who used it as a residence and custody of the village library and 2006 at the Castle Stračov sro sold. Since 1 November 2004, the castle is regarded as a cultural monument.
