Suidakra

Suidakra is a melodic death metal and Celtic-/Folk-Metal-Band from Monheim, Germany. The band's name is the ananym of the first name of the band founder and guitarist Arcadius Antonik.

History

1994-1997: Foundation and first recordings

The band was founded in 1994 under the name of drummer Stefan Möller Gloryfication and guitarist and singer Arcadius Antonik. After the band had released two demo recordings and included Marcel Schoenen, it changed its name to Suidakra ( ananym of " Arcadius "). 1997-1999: Lupine Essence and Auld Lang Syne

1999-2001: Lays from Afar and The Arcanum

For the album Lays from Afar, which was released in 1999, the producer Andy Classen was acquired. This album received some new items and a coherent story from mythology and his own fiction.

The band was happy with the recording of Lays from Afar, so that they return to the Stage One Studio and Andy Classen selected as a producer, to take The Arcanum in 2000. The songs were mainly from Celtic mythology and individual imagination. After the appearance of The Arcanum announced Marcel Schoenen (guitar), wanting to leave the band. In September 2005, Marcel Schoenen returned to Suidakra. The eighth studio album Caledonia (Latin, Scotland ' ) was published in 2006. 2008-2010: Crógacht

2010-2013: Book of Dowth and Eternal Defiance

For 2011, the band announced that they wanted to continue only as a trio, with Marius " Jussi " Pesch she supported as a live guitarist.
