Şükrü Sina Gürel
Sukru Sina Gurel ( born January 1, 1950 in İzmir ) is a Turkish academic, politician and former Foreign Minister of Turkey.
Gurel graduated from Bornova Anadolu Lisesi in İzmir and 1971, the Faculty of Political Science in the field of International Relations at the University of Ankara. 1982 Gurel worked in the led by Bülent Ecevit editors of Arayış ( search). At the same faculty, he was a lecturer in 1984 and 1990, Professor. In the parliamentary elections of 1995 Gurel was Demokratik Sol Parti for the selected ( DSP) to the deputies of the province of İzmir in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. In the 55th government from 1997 to 1998 was Gurel Minister of State for the EU and Cyprus, as well as government spokesman. He was also a member of the 56th government. In the 57th government, he was again Minister of State with the same departments. Between 12 July 2002 and November 18, 2002 Gurel was Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. In the 20th and the 21st legislature was Gurel deputy of the province of İzmir.
Gurel has published four books on the history of Cyprus, the Cyprus conflict, the Turkish - Greek relations and on problems in the Turkish foreign policy.
Sukru Sina Gurel is married and has two children.
