Sun Lu-t'ang

Sun Lutang, Chinese孙禄堂, Pinyin Sun Lutang, W.-G. Sun Lu - t'ang (* 1861, † December 16, 1933 ) was a master of Chinese internal martial arts ( Neijia ) and founder of Sun style Taijiquan. In addition, he is regarded as neokonfuzianischer and Daoist scholar.

Sun Lutang was initially known for his Xingyiquan and Baguazhang, which he learned from the respective most famous teachers of his time. Only at the age of 50 years learned Sun Lutang the Wu / Hao style Taijiquan. On this basis, he developed his own style of Taijiquan (Sun style), in which he let the elements of Xingyiquan and Baguazhang feed.

Contrary to what most martial artists of his time, Sun Lutang was formed. He has published numerous books that are still regarded as standard works for the internal martial arts, and who helped to establish the martial arts not only as actuation of the uneducated classes. The popularization of the division of Chinese martial arts in interior and exterior style is mainly due to him and his books.
