Super Bowl XXXIV

The Super Bowl XXXIV was carried out on January 30, 2000 Championship Finals of the 1999 season of the National Football League ( NFL) and the overall 34th Super Bowl. In the Georgia Dome in Atlanta the National Football Conference champion St. Louis Rams defeated the American Football Conference champion Tennessee Titans with 23-16. Super Bowl MVP was Rams quarterback Kurt Warner. The game is known for its dramatic end, where the last play Rams linebacker Mike Jones Titans wide receiver Kevin Dyson could Tackling a yard in front of the end zone, and thus secured the victory for the Rams.

Overview

The St. Louis Rams had won in the regular season 13 of 16 season games. The showpiece of the team from Missouri was their strong offense ("The Greatest Show on Turf" ) to quarterback Kurt Warner, the reigning Most Valuable Player. Warner scored 4,353 yards space gain and threw 41 touchdowns. He was supported mainly by running back Marshall Faulk, who recorded twelve touchdowns and 2,429 scrimmage yards space gain. In the NFC playoffs until the Minnesota Vikings with 49-37 and then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11-6 defeated.

The Tennessee Titans also won 13 games season. Since in their division the Jacksonville Jaguars had won a game in hand, the Titans had the first AFC wildcard match where they just defeated the Buffalo Bills with 22-16, and then successively the Indianapolis Colts with 19-16 and the Jaguars with 33-14 scientists turned off. The team from Nashville was distinguished by his hard defense to linebacker Eddie Robinson, who allowed only 5,056 yards extra space and only 242 points for the opponent. Game History

In the first Drive Warner, the Rams could lead up to the opposing 17 -yard line, but the field goal attempt by kicker Jeff Wilkins failed because the zones identified by Ball Holder Mike Horan failed the snap. Then McNair threw the Titans up to the 32 -yard line, but Titans kicker Al Del Greco missed a field goal attempt from 47 yards. In the second half, Warner threw the first touchdown of the game on wide receiver Torry Holt, and after a successful point- after- touchdown (PAT ) of Wilkins led St. Louis with 16-0. Tennessee quarterback McNair led a long drive from one to the 2- yard line, the running back Eddie George completed for a touchdown. Since the subsequent two-point conversion failed, the Rams still led with 16-6. After the Rams did not bring into being first down, McNair led to a second long drive, the George again finished second touchdown: after a successful PAT by El Greco were the Titans just three points ( 16-13 ) back. Jones's Tackle has been chosen by ESPN to the " second largest Super Bowl moment of all time" and is regarded in the U.S. as one of the most dramatic sports moments ever. Dyson later said that he had hoped to break Jones ' tackling, but the " could have simply done his job. " (When he ( Jones ) got his hands on me, I thought I was going to break the tackle ... But hey got my foot, tripped me up and wrapped up nice. That's what he's Supposed To DO. That's his job. )
