The Suze ( French La Suze ) is a 42 km long river in the Bernese Jura. Your source is located above the hamlet of Le Cerf at the top in the Vallon de Saint- Imier, one of the longitudinal valleys of the Jura Mountains at 966 m. The Schüss follows the valley to the northeast, and later eastward to Reuchenette.
This breaks the Schüss in a classic Jura transverse valley through to the south. Just before she steps out in the Central Plateau, it forms the Taubenlochschlucht. The trail through the gorge had to be closed several times due to the imminent danger of falling rocks.
The Schüss flows out through Biel / Bienne, where its water power was used extensively in the age of industrialization. In Biel, the Schüss divided into two natural and an artificial arm.
