Svetlana Ishmouratova
Svetlana Irekowna Ischmuratowa (Russian Светлана Ирековна Ишмуратова; born April 20, 1972 in Zlatoust ) is a former Russian biathlete.
1996 Svetlana Ischmuratowa was the first year in the Biathlon World Cup active, their first major success was winning the World Championship title with the Russian team in 1998. To date, they could at World Championships winning five gold medals with Russian squadrons or teams, and two silver and one bronze medal.
In 2006 she won after she was twelve times already and was already considered as a Second " Eternal Second ", her first World Cup.
At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City Svetlana Ischmuratowa win bronze with the Russian squadron. In Turin in 2006 succeeded her first major single success when they triumphed in the individual 15 km. With the gold medal in the relay race, it became the two-time Olympic gold medalist in Turin.
After the Olympic season 2006 she took a break from competition and brought on 10 April 2007 a son ( Mikhail ) to the world. She has now finished her playing career and worked as a Member of the Sports Committee of the Russian parliament.
