Tacoma Rockets (PCHL and WHL)

The Tacoma Rockets were an American ice hockey franchise in the Western Hockey League from Tacoma, Washington.

History

The Tacoma Rockets were founded for the season 1946/47, as a franchise of the Pacific Coast Hockey League. While the team was in their six seasons in the PCHL regularly among the best teams in the league in the regular season, but they never won the Lester Patrick Cup, the championship of PCHL. After the league was replaced for season 1952/53, by the Western Hockey League, the Tacoma Rockets joined their successor league. Your first and only season in the WHL ended the Rockets in the seventh and last place thus the regular season. Then put the team a game operation.

From 1991 to 1995 played an eponymous team in the top junior Western Hockey League.
