Taghut

Taaghoot (Arabic طاغوت, DMG ṭāġūt ), plural Tawāghīt ( طواغيت / ṭawāġīt ), in pre-Islamic Arabia was the name given to buildings that were similar to the Kaaba worship as sanctuaries of gods and where the sanctuary guards were employed. They were taught votive offerings represent circled it in the form of Tawaf and slaughtered sacrificial animals with them.

The term is often occupied (Sura 2:256, 4:51, 4:60, 5:60, 39:17 ), where it is designed according to the importance as masculine, feminine or plural in the Quran.

In Yemen Taaghoot described the traditional tribal law.

Use within Islamist currents

Representatives of political Islam use the term " Taaghoot " as a symbol of the evil corrupt system. Already Khomeini called it " illegitimate government authorities " and their " henchmen " as " Taaghoot ". Even with Cemaleddin Kaplan, the term Taaghoot took a central role.
