Tállya
Tállya is a town in Borsod -Abaúj -Zemplén.
Geographical Location
Tállya is located in north -eastern Hungary, 45 kilometers from county capital Miskolc. Tállya located in the Tokaj wine region.
History
The area was already inhabited in prehistoric times. In the 15th century the site was mentioned as a town. The name probably comes from the French immigrants. In the Middle Ages there was a castle, which was in ruins since the 16th century. Zsuzsanna Lorántffy, the consort of George I Rákóczi, used it as a quarry. When Rákóczi uprising Tállya was a major location of kuruc. 1711 lost the Rákóczi family the location of the Bretz Hein family. Later he went to the Sóhalmi family.
