Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani (Arabic تميم بن حمد آل ثاني, DMG Tamim bin Hamad Al Tani, born June 3, 1980 in Doha, Qatar) is since 2013 head of state of Qatar.

Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani graduated in 1998 at the Military Academy Sandhurst. In 2003 he was appointed as the successor of his father. He is also President of the National Olympic Committee and IOC Member ( since 2002). In addition, he is Chairman of the Supreme Education Council of Qatar and in responsible positions in various organizations Qatar. On June 25, 2013, his father thanked Hamad Bin Khalifa Al- Thani from as head of state. Thus, at this time the 33 -year-old crown prince became the youngest head of state in the Arab world. He is also the supreme commander of the armed forces of Qatar.

He is married with two wives and six children.
