Tancredo Neves

Tancredo de Almeida Neves ( born March 4, 1910 in São João del Rei, Minas Gerais, † April 21, 1985 in Brasília ) was a Brazilian politician. It was in 1985, after 20 years of military rule, was elected president of the country, but died before taking office.

Neves studied law at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais ( UFMG ) and began his political career in 1933. Estado Novo as 1937 was proclaimed, was once interrupted his career.
