Techi Dam

The Deji Reservoir (Chinese德基 水库) lies on the River dajia in central Taiwan. You can find the name also written as " Tehchi " or " Tachien ". The reservoir was created about 1969 to 1974. With its altitude of 1408 m, it should be the highest reservoir in Asia.

The Deji Reservoir is located at the foot of Li Mountain in Heping District of Taichung City in a very scenic area. He is the chief of several reservoirs on the dajia. On this river lies the Shigung Dam, which was known when it was destroyed by the Jiji Earthquake 1999.

The memory space of the Deji Reservoir is three times as large as that of the Sun Moon Lake, which is the largest and most famous lake in Taiwan. The dam has a 181 m high arch dam as a shut-off.
