Heping District, Taichung

Heping (Chinese和平 区/和平 区, pinyin Heping Qū ) is the geographically largest and most sparsely populated district (区, Qū ) Taichung City in Taiwan, Republic of China. The approximately 10,000 residents mostly belong to the indigenous people of the Atayal.

By 2010 Heping was a rural community (乡, Xiang ) in Taichung County, which has been fully incorporated on December 25, 2010 in the city of Taichung.

Location

The more than 1000 km ² large district occupies the entire eastern half of the former Taichung county.
