Geography

Teisendorf located in Rupertiwinkel, at the foot of the northern -thousand of the German Alps, the Teisenberg ( 1333 m). To the east rises the Högl ( 827 m), the Teisendorf to Salzburg towards separates.

The place is located in the foothills of the Alps between Salzburg and Lake Chiemsee, a few miles south of Lake Waging the headwaters of the Sur.

Neighboring municipalities are Ainring, Anger, Inzell, petting, Saalsdorf -Surheim, Victory Village, Surberg, Waging am See and the mountain bliss.

In addition, the towns of Bad Reichenhall, Freilassing, running and Traunstein on the Bavarian side and Oberndorf and Salzburg are on the Austrian side in close proximity.

Infrastructure

Road

South of Teisendorf, on the northern slope of the Teisenberg runs the A8 over. This leads from Luxembourg to Salzburg and thus forms a key link from Germany to the southeast. The nearest motorway junction is about eight kilometers from Teisendorf, the exit is called Neukirchen. Also, south of Teisendorf runs the B 304, which also connects to Salzburg and Munich Wasserburg am Inn. There is also by the federal highway 304 quick and easy connections to Traunstein and to Freilassing and also to Salzburg.

Railway

Through the Northeast Teisendorfs the double-track and electrified railway line from Munich to Salzburg runs. It is listed in the timetable of Deutsche Bahn as Route number 951. About one kilometer east of the town center of Teisendorf is the Teisendorf station. The station has three platform tracks today. The track is located on the main platform 2, which is 34 inches high. The central platform, where the tracks 3 and 4 are located, is also high 34 centimeters. The station is therefore not accessible.

The railway line Rosenheim and Salzburg was opened on 1 August 1860. With the railway line and the Teisendorf station went into operation. From the beginning of Teisendorf station had an important meaning because it has been migrated here in the horse-drawn carriages to Berchtesgaden. Furthermore, it was handled the arriving here with horse-drawn carriages from Berchtesgaden salt in Teisendorf. The station had after its opening three tracks, a reception building with lateral extensions and a water house which locomotive should provide before the slope portion towards Traunstein with water. By 1940, the tracks were extended to some systems for freight transport. The passenger lost by the opening of the railway line Freilassing -Bad Reichenhall, Berchtesgaden, however, important as new railway line from Freilassing now replaced the horse-drawn carriages from Teisendorf. On November 26, 1931, interlocking design of the unit, which was in 1976 replaced by a track plan interlocking arose. The freight was discontinued in the 1990s to a siding for a LPG storage. The station building sold the German railway in 2008 to a private investment company.

Today the station every hour from regional express trains of the German railway is operated. They run from Munich via Grafing, Rosenheim, Bad Endorf, Prien am Chiemsee, Traunstein, Teisendorf and Freilassing to Salzburg with either n- car or 2006 built bi-level cars and a locomotive of the series go through 111 All long-distance trains of Deutsche Bahn and the Austrian Federal Railways the station without stopping.

Bus

Through the community Teisendorf lead three bus lines of regional Oberbayern (RVO ), a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn. Bus number 829 runs from Bad Reichenhall Anger and Teisendorf after consultation Stetten. This service operates from Monday to Friday approximately every hour. On Saturdays and Sundays is not operating. Bus number 825 runs only on school days three times daily from Oberteisendorf about Teisendorf and Saalsdorf -Surheim after running. Bus number 9515 leads from Traunstein to Freilassing parallel to the railway line Rosenheim and Salzburg. The line runs from the train station Traunstein on village hall - Surberg, Teisendorf and Fridolfing to Freilassing station. Attractions

In the vicinity of Teisendorf the Achthal is the mining museum and the monastery church Höglwörth. A popular hiking destination is the Stoißer Alm ( 1272 m) at the Teisenberg.

In the marketplace of Teisendorf is St. Rupert, the patron saint of Rupertiwinkels. Landmark of Teisendorf is the parish church of St. Andrew built in 1437 with her highly visible tower.

History

Teisendorf was founded around the year 700 and was first mentioned in 790 as Tusindorf in a deed of the former Dukes of Bavaria to the archbishopric of Salzburg.

The former village Niederteisendorf offered in the 13th century, good conditions for a settlement of traders and thus for a Marktwerdung. It was on a major street or intersection. This led to the establishment of a toll booth and the place was the religious center of the parish church and the parish seat, to the appreciation came as the economic center for the umwohnende rural population by prohibiting, within a radius of two miles from the farmers directly foods and artisanal products shop for trade.
