Teltschik Tower

Building and construction of the tower

The Teltschikturm was completed to a design by Robert Teltschik between 4 April and 18 May 2001. The tower was inaugurated on 17 June 2001. The load-bearing wooden beams are made of larch wood, while the observation deck is occupied at a height of 35 meters with oak wooden planks. A spiral staircase made ​​of steel with 192 steps inside the tower structure allows visitors to climb.

The Teltschikturm is similar to the observation tower erected in 2002 Hohewarte ( Pforzheim ).

The financing of the tower was made by donations from Walter and Karin Teltschik to the community Wilhelm field.

Location and views

On a clear day are from the platform to the north of the Great Feldberg, the highest at 880 m elevation in the Taunus mountains, and to the south the Hornisgrinde to see with 1164 m the highest mountain in the Black Forest. In addition, the south- east are also observed parts of the Swabian Alb.

The Teltschikturm is partially lit at night and is widely visible in the Rhine valley into it.

Use

The ascent of the tower is free.

On 1 January each year hosts the New Year bubbles on Teltschikturm. This welcomes the Wilhelmsfelder Posaunenchor the new year.

Tower Race

Since 2008, an annual Tower Run takes place. Be wearing both individual and team races. For the team race, a trophy is awarded.
