Teratosaurus ( " monster lizard" ) is a genus of Rauisuchidae, a group of extinct, carnivorous archosaurs. Its fossil remains are known from deposits of the European Noriums ( Upper Triassic, from 216.5 to 203.6 mya ).

This Rauisuchier had relatively long and strong arms. The hind legs have four toes, with Teratosaurus only ran on three toes, the fourth was reduced and did not touch the ground. He was about six feet long, reaching an estimated weight of about 700 kilograms.

For a long time was considered a theropod dinosaur Teratosaurus. This error was due to similarities of Rauisuchiern and dinosaurs.
