Geography

Ternitz is in the lower Schwarzatal at the beginning of Steinfeld ( dryness level) in the industrial area (also fourth among the Vienna Woods ) in Lower Austria. With the Gösing - Hochberg group, which at the same time with 898 m oa is the highest point of the municipality, the municipality of Ternitz forms the northern boundary of the hunchback world on Alpenostrand. History

The name " Ternitz " 1352 for the first time as a place name mentioned in a document (for the Tehannts, land register of St. Lorenzen ). The center of today's Ternitz likely to have been densely populated since the Middle Ages, but it was deserted over the centuries. Steel City Museum

Castle Stixenstein

Peter Kirtag
