Těšovice (Sokolov District)

Těšovice ( German Tesch joke) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It lies on the eastern outskirts of Sokolov and belongs to Okres Sokolov.

Geography

Těšovice located on the right bank of the Eger in the Sokolov Basin. To the east rises the Těšovický vrch ( 469 m ) in the west of Na Hardu ( Hardhöhe ). On the left side of the river runs the railway line Chomutov - Cheb, the railway station " Královské Poříčí " is located a mile north of Těšovice. Between Těšovice and Královské Poříčí a bridge over the Eger. East of the town is bypassed by the main road 6 / E 48/49.

History

The first mention of Tesch joke was in 1454th The city was part of the rule Sokolov. In the middle of the 19th century began between Tesch wit and Altsattl of the mining entrepreneur Johann David Starck with the mining of lignite and pyrite. Not far from the pits he had a mineral build.

Attractions
