Tévenon

Tévenon since July 1, 2011, a municipality in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

The now former municipalities Fontanezier ( 58 inhabitants, as of 31 December 2010), Romairon (32 inhabitants), Vaugondry (35 inhabitants) and Villars -Burquin ( 571 inhabitants) merged on 1 July 2011 for new community Tévenon.

The name is derived from the hallway En Tévenon name for the range of hills, lying at the southern slope of the four communities.

Geography

Tévenon lies on the southern slopes of the Vaud Jura high above Lake Neuchâtel, and offers a great foresight on the Swiss Plateau and the Alps. The municipality comprises the villages Fontanezier, Romairon, Vaugondry and Villars -Burquin as well as numerous individual farms of the Jura heights. The neighboring communities of Tévenon are in the north of Val- de - Travers ( NE), in the northeast Provence, in the east Bonvillars, in the south-southeast Champagne, in the southwest Fontaines- sur -Grandson and west Mauborget.
