Thailand Graduate Institute of Science and Technology

The Thailand Graduate Institute of Science and Technology ( Thai สถาบันบัณฑิตวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีไทย, short TGIST ) is a training and research facility in Bangkok, Ratchathewi District, which is assigned by the Thailand National Science and Technology Development Agency.

Tasks

The Thailand Graduate Institute of Science and Technology is a " virtual institute ", which is run jointly by the National Science and Technology Development Agency, the Ministry of University Affairs and various Thai universities and institutes and cooperating with international universities.

TGITS works as a forum in which numerous resources of universities and the National Science and Technology Development Agency are bundled to form a critical mass for the development of national research and teaching. Involved are

  • The universities as a Content Provider
  • The National Science and Technology Development Agency as an intermediary
  • The public and private sector as a purchaser of contents

Organizational structure

The Thailand Graduate Institute of Science and Technology is divided into the following areas:

  • The Center for Advanced Studies (CAS, Centre for Advanced Studies )
  • The Graduate Research and Education Consortium ( GREC, Consortium for Graduate Research and Training )
  • The School of Engineering Practice (SEP, School of Engineering Practice )
  • The School of Technology Management (STM, School of Technology Management )
  • The Thailand Training Network ( TTN network for training Thailand)
  • The Science and Technology Electronic Publishing Program ( STEP program for electronic publication in research and technology )
