Buckaroo Banzai - Across the 8th Dimension is an American science fiction film released in 1984.

Action

Dr. Buckaroo Banzai is a physicist, neurosurgeon, adventurer and musician ( in his rock band the Hong Kong Cavaliers ), who is fighting to save the world from the evil red Lectroiden of Planet 10.

At the beginning of the film takes Banzai part as a test pilot at the testing of a turbine -powered automobile. It wants his team secretly the oscillation Alpha laser, test a device that allows change to another dimension.
