The Balkan Girls

The Balkan Girls was decoupled (in German The girls from the Balkans ) is a single by Romanian singer Elena Gheorghe, consisting of a special edition ( ediţia speciala ) of her album Te ador. Gheorghe approached with this song for Romania at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, after the national decider Selecţia Naţională won in 2009. Was composed the song by Laurentiu Duţă.

Euro vision

The Balkan Girls won the Selecţia Naţională 2009 with a total of 3,503 votes ahead of Catalin Josan and the Blaxy Girls. The latter were in the telephone vote, although the front, received by the judges but only six points - half as many as Elena.

Since Romania is neither to the Big Four of the Euro Vision belongs still won last year's competition for themselves, Gheorghe had to compete in one of the semifinals in order to qualify for the final. The song thus launched the first semi-final on 12 May with the start number 14 ahead of Finland and Macedonia. It reached 67 points in ninth place and thus qualified for the final. Promo Tournée

The song was recorded in autumn 2008 and the music video was filmed in the studios of the Romanian Television TVR on January 5, 2009. After Gheorghe won the Selecţia, the live version of the song was broadcast on Romanian television channels TVR 1, TVR 2, TVR 3 TVR and International. On 12 February, the singer announced that they are going to help promote the song on tour and wanted to shoot a new video.

On March 5, 2009, shooting for Balkan Girls started in Arges county, and in a club in Bucharest. On 10 March 2009 Gheorghe came to Germany and presented at the International Tourism Exchange in Berlin 's new music video. She had a photo shoot, gave interviews and was a guest on television programs.

Other aims of the artist were Greece, Albania, Serbia, Ukraine and Russia. Furthermore, she met Nelly Ciobanu, Lidia Kopania, Susanne Georgi and Kejsi Tola.

In addition to the first place in the Romanian singles charts Gheorghe also secured places in the charts of the Romanian Radio and television stations, such as the Fresh Top 40 of KissFM.
