The Bends

The Bends is the second album by the British band Radiohead. It was published on 13 March 1995 and produced by John Leckie and Radiohead. With this album, Radiohead achieved a commercial breakthrough after they already had a first success with respect Creep from the first album Pablo Honey. Critics judged the mood of the album as "dark, depressed, angry and desperate" and the pieces range from slower, anthemic songs like the deeply sad Fake Plastic Trees to rock songs like Just and My Iron Lung. Musically, one close to the indie Brit -rock is to be noted while later albums like OK Computer and Kid A and Amnesiac particularly precipitated increasingly experimental and electronic.

1997 The Bends fourth best album of all time in "Music of the Millennium " - Voting ( HMV, Channel 4, The Guardian and Classic FM ). The Rolling Stone magazine has ranked the album at number 110 of Rolling Stone 's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

On 24 March 2009 a collector's edition came on the market, which also contains a DVD with videos and live recordings in addition to a second CD of B-sides, live recordings and demo versions.
