The Circus Starring: Britney Spears, commonly known as " Circus Tour " was the seventh concert tour of the U.S. pop singer Britney Spears in accordance with their sixth studio album Circus. The tour took place in North America, Europe and Australia.

It was her first world tour in five years, following the Onyx Hotel Tour in 2004. Tour is the most commercially successful tour of the year in 2009 and has earned approximately 74.6 million U.S. dollars after 48 shows.

Background

Shortly after the premiere of her new song " Womanizer " at the New York radio station Z100 Spears announced that they will launch their world tour in spring 2009. Rehearsals for the tour began in January 2009, in preparation for a kick -off in March. After a short time the one million tickets were sold in Europe.

On 3 March 2009 the tour started in New Orleans. The opening was hosted by Perez Hilton and initially by magicians and other entertainers support to strengthen the effect of the circus. The tour promoter John Meglen spoke to the Las Vegas Sun about the tour: "It is one of the largest and best selling tours of the decade. " The Las Vegas Deluxe reported that the stage alone costs in the amount of 10 million U.S. dollars caused. In addition, included the entire wardrobe cost of about $ 150,000. The concert in Copenhagen was from Yahoo, recorded, however, for unknown reasons, not as a DVD Release.
