The Honeydrippers: Volume One is an EP of Supergroup to Robert Plant, which was published on 12 November 1984.

The project started as a desire of Atlantic Records Ahmet Ertegun - President, who wanted to bring out an album of his favorite songs from the 1950s. Ertegun decided to Plant and his band The Honeydrippers, who already played classics from the 1950s. At Plants tape included, among other things, Nile Rodgers, the funk band Chic, Jeff Beck, the guitarist with the Yardbirds was, and Jimmy Page, who had played with Plant already in Led Zeppelin. The Single Sea of ​​Love was the biggest commercial success to Plants.

According to some biographers Plant the success of Sea of ​​Love was more of a disgrace to Plant because it had the piece originally intended only as a B- side for Rockin 'at Midnight. The Radio stations, however, preferred Sea of ​​Love. Plant later confirmed this theory and said that this was one of the reasons that no other recordings of the Honeydrippers more appeared. Plant wanted to stop to take a crooner in the history of music.

As part of the Robert Plant remasters series, the EP was re-released as an album in 2007. It is even said to have been in planning a comeback album. This idea, however, was rejected due to Ertegüns death in 2006.
