The Lost Tapes ( German: The Disappeared tapes ) is the seventh album from New York rapper Nas The album unreleased material is from the second CD of the original double album I Am ... The rest are non-published songs that during the time of Stillmatic have emerged, and some new titles.
In the play Fetus Nas tells about the life in the womb of his mother before his birth. The Lost Tapes is, together with Stillmatic and God 's Son to the albums that Nas fans have always wanted and have missed during the period from 1997 to 2000 something. On the cover image an excavated chest with tapes and additional content such as microphone and ID is shown.
