The Pointer

Pluto the Hound is an American animated short film directed by Clyde Geronimi from the year 1939. An alternative title of the film is Pluto's hunting instinct.

Action

Mickey Mouse and his dog Pluto go into the forest to hunt quail. At their tent they throw away laughing a can of beans, but they hope to be able to eat a roast dinner. Pluto is the written down in the book How to Train a Pointer basic rule of all hunting dogs follow while hunting: Stay calm and do not move. As both stalking a quail family, however, and chased Pluto forgets his ungestühmen all kind of birds. Mickey is angry, Pluto, however, shows itself once again as a good hunting dog keeps still.

The second Anpirschversuch begins and Pluto is deflected by a worm and follow it. Mickey, however, is now unnoticed pursued by a giant bear that is treated and rebuked in attack attempts on Mickey from this always like a dog. Pluto, meanwhile, has discovered the quail family, however, reminds us of the keep still and is literally petrified in their vicinity. The quail chicks gymnastics around on him and soon other animals of the forest to join Pluto.

Micky finally appears with his dog and is surprised. He realizes that behind him impossible also can stand Pluto promptly and looks into the open jaws of the bear. Production

Pluto the Hound was released on 21 July 1939 as part of Disney's beloved film series Mickey Mouse. It was the first film to Mickey pointed to his redevelopment by Fred Moore. The mouse now possessed, among other pupils.

Pluto the Hound was nominated in 1940 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ", but could not prevail against The Ugly Duckling itself.
