The World Is Not Enough is a rock song with orchestral elements from the year 1999, which was played by the band Garbage. The song was the theme song of the eponymous film of the James Bond series.

History

The song was released in advance on 4 October 1999. The song was recorded in the Armoury Studios in the summer of 1999 with a 83- piece orchestra in Vancouver. It was written by film composer David Arnold and Don Black. The song combined the traditional style of James Bond songs with contemporary elements of alternative rock.

Chart success

The title was very successful in Europe, reaching number 11 on the charts in the UK. Other top -20 finishes were achieved in Switzerland, Belgium and Italy. In Finland and Norway, the single peaked at # 7 Other chart positions were in Germany with number 38, Austria with number 40, and reached the Top 60 of countries France, Netherlands and Sweden. In the USA, the single did not place.
