Chertan ( from Arabic خراتان, DMG ḫarātān, two small ribs ' ) is the name of the star θ Leonis ( Theta Leonis ); in the constellation Leo.
Chertan belongs to the spectral class A0 and has an apparent magnitude of 3.4 m. It is 170 light years away from the Sun. Other Names: Chort ( "little ridge " ), coxa ( " hip ").
