They Might Be Giants

They Might Be Giants ( commonly abbreviated as TMBG ) is an American alternative band consisting of the duo of John Flansburgh and John Linnell, also known as the two Johns or John and John. The band was founded in New York in 1982 at the Brooklyn district and named after the eponymous film by Anthony Harvey. Notoriety they achieved, inter alia, by their answering machine action " Dial A Song." They played their songs on an answering machine, you might listen to calls through. Later, They Might Be Giants were the first major band that released their songs as MP3.

TMBG are known for their songs Do not Let 's Start from the album They Might Be Giants Ana Ng from the album Lincoln and Birdhouse in Your Soul from the album Flood. In Europe it is known mainly because of the theme song from the TV series Malcolm in the Middle, Boss of Me, for which the band won a Grammy in 2002. TMBG titles were occasionally used in animated series such as Tiny Toons or The Simpsons.

A Rockumentary of the band was in 2002 under the title Gigantic in the American cinema.
