Thierry Dusserre

Thierry Dusserre ( born July 25, 1967 in Romans- sur -Isère ) is a French biathlon coach and former biathlete.

Thierry Dusserre lives in Villard -de- Lans and works as a customs officer. The biathlete from SC Douanes Grenoble operating his sport since 1985. Since the late 1980s, he started the biathlon championship. In the Biathlon World Championships 1989 in Feistritz an der Drau he started in singles and was 53 points first won the French in 1989 as a Single Page 19 in Hämeenlinna. In the Biathlon World Championships 1993 he was in the team competition with Gilles Marguet, Xavier Blond and Lionel Laurent win the bronze medal. The breakthrough in the world's top managed Dusserre during the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. In the sprint, he ran on a good 19th place, but together with Patrice Bailly- Salins, Lionel Laurent and Hervé Flandin in the season he won the bronze medal as first runner behind the German and the Russian team. Also at the Biathlon World Championships 1995 in Antholz the Frenchman could with the relay in the same cast a medal, now silver behind Germany win. He also won with Franck Perrot, Laurent and Stéphane Bouthiaux again bronze medal in the team event. In individual he ran to 24th place. The World Championships the following year in Ruhpolding brought a 38th place in singles and fifth place in the relay. The 1996/97 season brought the best World Cup result of the career in a single race for Dusserre. In Novosibirsk, he ran in a single to eighth place. He also reached in the season with the relay several top ten results. Fifth place in the relay best result even at the Biathlon World Championships 1997 in Osrblie was again. In the sprint he ran to 16th place in the individual Frenchman was 29. Last major event was the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano for Dusserre. For races in Nozawa Onsen he ran on the 46th place in the individual, was 50th in the sprint and seventh with the French squadron. After the season Dussere ended his active career.

After his playing days Dussere became a coach. His protégés include Jean -Guillaume Beatrix, Marine Dusser, and Marie -Laure Brunet.
