Third Way (Palestinian Authority)

The Third Way (Arabic الطريق الثالث, DMG aṭ - Tariq at- Talit ) is a small Palestinian political party that held office in the Palestinian National Authority (PNA ).

The party was founded on 16 December 2005 is led by Salam Fayyad and Hanan Ashrawi. The election campaign was led by Sami Abdel- Shafi. The party presents itself as an alternative to the two-party system of Hamas and Fatah dar. The choice of the Palestinian Legislative Council in January 2006 received the Party 2.41 percent of the vote and won two of the 132 council seats.

As part of the takeover of Gaza by Hamas, the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, Salam Fayyad, appointed on 15 June 2007 as Prime Minister of the new Palestinian Authority.
