Thomas Davee

Thomas Davee ( born December 9, 1797 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, † December 9, 1841 in Blanchard, Maine ) was an American politician. Between 1837 and 1841 he represented the state of Maine in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Thomas Davee attended the public schools of his home and then moved to Maine, where he was engaged in trade and in politics. In the years 1826 and 1827 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Maine. After that, he was from 1830 to 1832 member of the State Senate. 1835 Davee was as high sheriff sheriff in Somerset County. From 1833 to 1837 he worked as a post holder in Blanchard.

Politically, Davee member of the Democratic Party. In 1836 he was as their candidate in the eighth constituency of Maine in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Gorham Parks on March 4, 1837. After a re-election in 1838 he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1841 two legislative sessions. In 1840 Davee renounced another candidacy. He then worked again in the trade. In 1841 he was elected again to the Senate of Maine. Thomas Davee died on December 9, 1841, his 44th birthday, in Blanchard.
