Thomas Lamparter
Thomas Lamparter ( born June 9, 1978 in Bern ) is a Swiss bobsledder. He is one of the best Anschiebern in bobsleigh 2000s.
Biography
Lamparter initially trained as a chef and later studied computer science and was computer science engineer. The athlete, who is trained by Stefan Burkart, since 2002 part of the national team of Switzerland. In his first season he was a brakeman for Francisco Baños in the four-man, Pius Meyer Hans in the two- and at the Swiss Championships boost for Martin Annen ( second place ). Best result was a second place in the European Cup bobsled, which was reached in four in St. Moritz. In the overall standings of the Viererbobwettbewerbs he reached the third place. For the following season Lamparter joined the four-man event of Annen. With him the Berne won the title of Swiss Champion and finished fifth overall in the World Cup. In the Swiss Championships he also stepped up to the two-man bob with Urs Hefti and finished fifth. Also in the 2004/05 season he was Swiss champion in the four-man Annen. In the overall standings of the World Cup, the team reached second place. The World Championships in Calgary brought a sixth place in the quad and with Daniel Schmid an eighth place in the competition of the two.
Since the season 2005/ 06 successes at major international events presented themselves for the Annen- team with Lamparter. In the overall standings of the World Cup it was third in Igls you won the World Cup home race. The Bob 2006 European Championship in St. Moritz brought winning the gold medal in four-man bobsleigh, as well as a fifth place with Schmid in the two-man bob. 2007 moved Lamparter the first brakeman in the new bobsleigh team of his longtime Anschieberkollegen at Annen and Rüegg, Beat Hefti.
