Thomas Nkuissi

Thomas Nkuissi (* July 7, 1928 in Nkongsamba; † 16 March 2011) was a Cameroonian minister and a Roman Catholic bishop.

Life

Thomas Nkuissi received on 29 June 1958, the priestly ordination in Nkongsamba. 1961 was Nkuissi can for a doctoral program to the Dr.. iur. doctorate.

Instead of 1970 convicted of " subversive " activities to death and pardoned in 1971 Bishop of Nkongsamba, Albert Ndongmo, Pope Paul VI named. 1973 Thomas Nkuissi titular bishop of Luperciana and ordered him to succeed the former administrator Georges Siyam Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Nkongsamba. He received his episcopal consecration on April 15, 1973 Cardinal Agnelo Rossi, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples; Co-consecrators were Curia Archbishop Bernardin Gantin, secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, and Denis Ngande, Bishop of Bafoussam.

On November 15, 1978, the appointment of the third Bishop of Nkongsamba by Pope John Paul II took place on 21 November 1992, his resignation has been accepted and André Wouking used as an administrator. The reasons for his resignation remained open, however, allegedly because of disputes about the burial of the deceased in the Canadian exile Albert Ndongmo.
