Thonhausen

Thonhausen is a municipality in the southern part of the Thuringian district Altenburger Land. It belongs to the administrative community Upper Sprottental.

Geography

Geographical location

The municipality is located Thonhausen with its districts south of the motorway 4 before the western gate of the city Crimmitschau at the junction of Zeitz - Schmöllner - Lösshügellandes in the Vorgebirgslagen the Thuringian Slate Mountains and the Ore Mountains. The Thuringian State Office for Environment and Geology is one of the community to Ronneburger agricultural and mining area. By Thonhausen the man ego Walder sprat flows. The nearest towns are Crimmitschau (5 km east), Schmölln (7 km north) and Ronneburg (10 km north-west ).

Adjacent communities are Jonaswalde, Heyersdorf, the city Schmölln and Vollmershain in the district Altenburger Land and the city Crimmitschau Saxon district Zwickau.

History

The documentary was first mentioned took place in the period 1181-1214. A part of Thonhausen belonged until 1920 to Saxe-Altenburg and was since 1900 the District Office Ronneburg belonging. The other part belonged to Amtshauptmannschaft Zwickau in the Kingdom of Saxony and Thuringia were only offered in 1928. Both districts and the later eingemeindeten districts belonged henceforth to the district of Altenburg and from 1952 to the circle Schmölln.

Population Development

The statistic shows 1910 568 inhabitants for the old burg share of Thonhausen. Wettelswalde had 123 Schönhaide 120 inhabitants. In the Saxon part of Thonhausen lived 110 inhabitants. 1933 had the places taken together, 868 and 1939, 850 inhabitants.

Parish council

Since the local elections of 7 June 2009, the council is composed as follows:

  • Volunteer Fire Department: 5 seats (63.5 %)
  • SV 1901 Thonhausen: 3 seats ( 36.5%)

The turnout was 57.6 %.

Mayor

The election in 1994 won Birgitt judge of the CDU in the first round with 98.1 % of votes. Since 1999, André Hupfer mayor, who was elected with 97.7 % in the first round with 98.2% in 1999, 2004 ( in this election for the CDU ) and 2010 with 93.5 % of votes.

Economy and infrastructure

The district Schönhaide is located directly at the motorway junction Schmölln the Federal Highway 4th via connection point the road L leads in 1361 by Schmölln to Crimmitschau and Neukirchen / splices, which was completely rebuilt in the municipality in two stages and the villages of bypasses. From the L 1361 Saxon road S 61 branches off to the center of Crimmitschau.
