Thorsten Hens

Thorsten Hens ( born December 19, 1961) is a German economist. He is Professor of Economics at the Swiss Finance Institute and Director of the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF ) at the University of Zurich. In addition to his professorship in Switzerland Thorsten Hens Associate Professor of Finance at the Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen, Norway. He studied at the University of Bonn and at the DELTA in Paris, he also was an assistant professor at Stanford University and at the University of Bielefeld. His research interests include financial economics and evolutionary finance.

In the Handelsblatt business economists Ranking 2009 for the German speaking Thorsten Hens is measured out on rank 27 on Lifetime. In his research, as investors make their decisions, Professor Hens used to explain the psychology and human biology to the dynamics in the financial market. His consulting experience includes behavioral finance for private banking and evolutionary finance for investment management.
