Till Brönner

Till Bronner ( born May 6, 1971 in Viersen ) is a German trumpeter, singer, composer and arranger.

Career

Bronner made ​​in 1990 graduated from high school at the Jesuit school Aloisiuskolleg in Bonn- Bad Godesberg. Already here he fell through his talent at various school orchestras: Classic School Orchestra, Big Band or AKO Sacro - Pop ( with Stefan Raab ) and in the companion volume to Andrew Lloyd Webber's Joseph and the Amazing debut Technicolor Dreamcoat. He studied jazz trumpet at the Hochschule für Musik Köln. His major teachers include Prof. Malte Burba and the American jazz trumpeter Bobby Shew. Bronner played in the Berlin RIAS Big Band. His first album Generations of Jazz with Ray Brown, Jeff Hamilton, Frank Chastenier and Gregoire Peters appeared in 1993. He was awarded the Prize of the German Record Critics' Award and the Prize of the German record industry. As a result, he played with international jazz greats such as Dave Brubeck, Tony Bennett, Mark Murphy, James Moody, Monty Alexander, Nils Landgren and Klaus Doldinger and Joe Sample and went in 2003 with the soul singer Joy Dena Lane on tour. In addition, he produced and composed for Hildegard Knef Album 17 mm (1999) and wrote soundtracks for Jazz lakes and Hell Tour by Pepe Danquart.

End of April 2006 appeared to be recorded in Los Angeles studio album Oceana. On the CD produced by Larry Klein, among others, Madeleine Peyroux and singer Carla Bruni are involved as guest stars.

He produced in 2002 with the No Angels the swing album When the Angels Swing, for which he arranged the pop hits of the group for a big band orchestra in the swing style. In 2006 he produced for the baritone Thomas Quasthoff The Jazz Album Watch What Happens in which he participated as a trumpeter.

From 2004 played until March 2010, he hosted in the series Talkin 'Jazz of the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn with his band and special guests, including Paul Kuhn, Mousse T., Stefan Raab, Anke Engelke, Thomas Quasthoff, Nana Mouskouri and many more. On March 5, 2010 Peter Kraus was the last guest of the series. In 2009 he played as a guest musician flugelhorn parts on the album Touch the famous Swiss Electronic Music duo Yello.

2009 Bronner was appointed professor at the University of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden. Since the winter semester 2009/2010 he taught there together with Malte Burba in the field of jazz, rock and pop.

From August to November 2010, was Bronner together with Sarah Connor and George Glueck jury member and mentor in the talent show X Factor, which aired on RTL and VOX. He got the category of off -25s allocated and won the contest with his candidate Edita Abdieski. In the second season, which started on 30 August 2011, he was again a jury member and mentor and got again the category of off -25s. 6 December 2011 Bronner won the show again with his candidate David Pepper.

Bronner has his residence in Berlin- Charlottenburg and is the father of a son.

Awards

Bronner received in 2007, 2008 and 2009, the Echo Award in the category "Jazz national / international". In 2009, Bronner was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Jazz instrumental solo category for his solo on the title Seven Steps to Heaven the American vocal group Take 6.
