Tim Cafe

Tim Cafe ( born August 12, 1987 in Invercargill ) is a New Zealand ski racer. It starts in all disciplines and took previously participated in two World Championships and once at the Olympic Winter Games. He is a three time New Zealand champion and won the Australia New Zealand Cup already two races remained in the World Cup but so far with no points.

Biography

Tim Cafe lives in Queenstown and learned at the age of three years at the Coronet Peak ski. There he played in August 2002, his first FIS races and six weeks later came the first start in the Australia New Zealand Cup. In April 2005 he stood for the first time in FIS races on the podium and in September 2006 he achieved second place in the Super G at Mt Hutt in the Australia New Zealand Cup, the first podium finish. The first victories in this series he celebrated on September 10, 2008, when he again at Mount Hutt won the Super -G and Super Combined. 2006 Cafe had already been New Zealand champion in giant slalom and 2008 he won the title in the Super -G. At the Junior World Championships, where he took part in 2006 and 2007, he reached front places. His best result was a 28th place in the slalom in 2007. Since 2005 Cafe also participate in races in Nor- Am Cup and drove it twice so far in the top 20 since 2008, he has also occasionally in the European Cup at the start, but came so far in any race in the top 50

In February 2009, Tim took cafe next to Angus Howden and Sarah Jarvis as one of three New Zealanders in the World Championships in Val d'Isere part. He finished 36th in the Super G and 46th in the giant slalom and was the only member of his team reach the countable results. In slalom, however, he was disqualified in the first round. End of January 2010 denied Cafe in Kranjska Gora his first two World Cup races. As it turned out in the first of two giant slaloms in the first round, he came in second just as the last of the first round to the finish and missed so clearly qualify for the second run. Cafes second major international event was the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. In addition to Ben Griffin he was the only New Zealand alpine skier, who participated in it. However, Griffin dropped out twice while Cafe scored the 38th place on his only -shows in the Super -G. In September 2010 Cafe New Zealand champion in slalom.

In the season 2010/2011 Cafe again took part in two World Cup races. In the super - G in Hinterstoder he finished the last to the 52nd place and in the giant slalom in Kranjska Gora, he retired in the first round of. In his second World Championship in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, he scored the 31st place in the Super G and rank 43 in the giant slalom, which he achieved the best results of the three-member New Zealand team, the next Cafe still belonged to Ben Griffin and Sarah Jarvis. In the slalom, he retired, however, from the second round of the qualifying race.
