Tincey-et-Pontrebeau

Tincey -et- Pontrebeau is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Tincey -et- Pontrebeau situated at an altitude of 212 m above sea level, 10 km northeast of Dampierre- sur-Salon and about 27 km west of the town of Vesoul (air line). The village is located in the west of the department, in the northwest of the plateau landscape Saônetals, in the Talniederung the Gourgeonne.

The area of ​​6.95 km ² municipal area includes a portion in the region of the plateau north of the Saônetals. From northeast to southwest, the area is crossed by the Alluvialniederung the Gourgeonne that provides for drainage Saône. The flood plain is on average 205 m and has a width of approximately one kilometer. The valley is flanked on both sides by a plateau, which reaches an average height of 240 m. History

Traces of a settlement site indicate that the municipality has been inhabited since Gallo- Roman times. Tincey is mentioned as Tencey and Tancey. The place name derives from the Latin personal name and the suffix - acum Tincius and means as much as the courtyard of the Tincius. In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. The local rule had always been held by the Lords of Ray. Together with the Franche -Comté came Tincey and Pontrebeau with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. In 1806 merged Tincey (1800: 319 inhabitants) and Pontrebeau (1800: 96 inhabitants) to double community. Today Tincey -et- Pontrebeau is a member of the 42 localities comprehensive community association Communauté de communes des Quatre Rivières.

Attractions

The church of Saint -Martin in Tincey in 1749 (mentioned in 1304 ) on the shape of a Latin cross at the site of the previous building rebuilt. It houses a remarkable high altar ( 18th century ); The stucco decoration is performed in baroque styles. About the Gourgeonne performs a stone bridge ( 19th century).

Population

With 84 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Tincey -et- Pontrebeau one of the smallest municipalities in the department of Haute- Saône. Throughout the 20th century, the population decreased significantly (1881 were still 259 persons counted ).

Economy and infrastructure

Tincey -et- Pontrebeau is still a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. Outside of the primary sector, there are very few jobs in town. Some employed persons are also commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work.

The village is situated away from the larger passage axes on a secondary road that leads from Vanne after Brotte- lès -Ray. Further road links exist with Lavoncourt, Theuley and Recologne.
