Tirat Carmel
Tirat Carmel, (Hebrew טירת כרמל, Arabic طيرة الكرمل, DMG Tirat al - Karmal ) is a city in Israel. It is part of the metropolitan area of the port city of Haifa.
Location and general information
Tirat Carmel is located a few kilometers south of Haifa, in the Carmel coast between the Carmel Mountains and the Mediterranean. Tirat Carmel was founded in 1948 on the site of the former Arab village of al - Tira, whose inhabitants had left the city during the War of Independence. Tirat Carmel in 1992 became a town. End of 2006, Tirat Carmel had 18,700 inhabitants.
