Tlemcen Province

The Tlemcen (Arabic ولاية تلمسان, DMG Wilāyat Tilimsān ) Province is a province ( wilaya ) in western Algeria.

The province is located at the Moroccan border in the Atlas Mountains and covers an area of ​​9,408 km2.

Around 906,000 people ( 2006 estimate ) live in the province, the population density is thus estimated at around 96 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The provincial capital is Tlemcen. For the West Algerian Economic Area and the adjacent areas of the Moroccan port of Ghazaouet is of great importance. This has a railway connection.
