Tom Barman

Tom Barman John ( born January 1, 1972 in Antwerp) is a Flemish musician and film director.

Life

Tom Barman studied at the film school Sint Lukas in Brussels, broke off his studies and opted instead for a career as a musician with his band dEUS, which he had founded in 1989. 1992, he made it to the final with dEUS the Humo rock rally.

He was also director of all dEUS video clips, and the clips of the singer Arno and Axelle Red, also released in 1996 his short film Turnpike. According to the The Ideal Crash tour Barman took time to realize an old dream, and produced a feature film. In the summer of 2002, he started in Antwerp with the recordings for Any Way The Wind Blows, which was released in 2003.

2004 By Magnus the debut album The Body Gave You Everything, from the barman used some songs for Any Way The Wind Blows. Have worked on this album, among other Mauro Pawlowski ( dEUS ), Tim Vanhamel ( Millionaire ) and Peter Vermeersch. From the concert series together with Van Nueten a live album, which consisted of a CD with ten tracks and a SADC with six other tracks released in 2003. The album includes both dEUS songs as well as from cover songs by artists such as Nick Drake and David Bowie, played by Tom Barman on guitar and vocals and Guy Van Nueten on the piano.

In September 2005, another dEUS - album was released under the title Pocket Revolution. Shortly thereafter, Barman toured with dEUS through Europe and America. In the same year he was a guest in the Dutch TV show Zomergasten. On 1 October 2006, he organized together with Arno and Sioen the 0110 festival for tolerance and against extremism and mindless violence. On 18 April 2008 the dEUS album Vantage Point appeared. Barman toured through Europe in 2008 with dEUS.

On July 21, 2007 Barman received the prize of democracy due by him called into existence 0110 festival. In mid-November of the same year received Barman by the Flemish Parliament the Erepenning ( German: Medal of Merit ), an honor that is given twice a year to Belgian citizens for outstanding achievements.
