Total Life Forever is the second studio album by the English indie rock band Foals.
It is the successor of the album Antidotes and appeared on 10 May 2010 at the British label Transgressive Records.
Recordings
In the summer of 2009 a number of tracks on the album were presented live. The album was recorded with producer Luke Smith in Svenska Grammofon Studio in Gothenburg, Sweden. The title of the album was presented on 24 February 2010.
Reviews
The album largely received positive reviews. In particular, the development in comparison to the previous album is often praised.
So forgive Adrian Meyer of laut.de 5 of 5 points and says: Foals deliver with their second album, a disc from which testifies to a huge maturation process. Your on " Antidotes " prevailing rebelliousness they have not completely given up on " Total Life Forever ". The then concentrated pressure has rather expanded to an elaborate width. " Total Life Forever " excited already at the first Hördurchlauf - Grower and is at the same time.
Bjoern Bauermeister rated the album on tonspion.de 5 out of 6 stars and judges: The Foals act today less theoretical, care more about the expression and the moment are less hectic, but rather contemplative Blazed in their cosmos.

On on3.de Total Life Forever is album of the week, in the review it says: If the music industry is not completely down the drain, then the Foals could really be a very big number.
In the criticism on intro.de judge the author: The framework of the music [ was ] loosened in many places, the Dodgy from the Math -rock past, the band is softened by elegiac textures, there is less hectic in the structures, less cryptic in the content.
The NME verdict It is nervous, intense and quite brilliant. and assigns 8 out of 10 possible points.

Achievements
Total Life Forever succeeded in entering many European charts. In July 2010, the album was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. The single This Orient got in for a week at number 97 on the UK Singles Charts, the single Miami made it to rank 127
