Tour du Millénaire

The Tour du Millénaire is a 60 m high observation tower near Gedinne in Belgium.

The tower is located on the Croix- Scaille, a wooded plateau, which with 503 m to the highest elevations of the Ardennes.

The tower was built in 2001. The construction costs amounted to 625,000 euros. Half of them paid the Wallonia, 40 % were supported by the European Union, the remaining 10% controlled the Gedinne from municipal funds at.

The tower consists of an unusually designed scaffold that was originally made ​​up of strains of domestic Douglas fir and today consists of steel beams. In addition, a cylindrical stairwell is made ​​of steel with a height of 47.6 m. Viewing platforms are located on the heights of 15, 30 and 45 m.

On 7 July 2008, the tower was dismantled after the logs were rotten. In 2012, the tower was built with steel beams again and is again available since July 5th of that year.
