Tranvía del Este

The Tranvía del Este ( tram of the East) was a roughly two -mile standard gauge tram track in Puerto Madero, a district of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.

The line was opened on 25 July 2007 and decommissioned on 10 October 2012. It ran parallel to the street Avenida Alicia Moreau de Justo, between the streets Avenida Independencia and Avenida Cordoba. There were plans for a two- kilometer extension to Retiro railway station on one side and five kilometers to the Caminito pedestrian street in the district of La Boca on the other side. Other suggestions included connections to the stations Plaza Constitucion, and Buenos Aires.

All expansion plans are now no longer be pursued. In the period before the closure of only a perverted Citadis car from Madrid in 40 -minute intervals.
