Trent McClenahan

Trent McClenahan (born 4 February 1985 in Chipping Norton, New South Wales) is an Australian football player. The defender has already played in England at West Ham United, Milton Keynes Dons and Hereford United and increased in 2008 with the Australian Olympic team in the Olympic tournament in China in part.

Club career

Trent McClenahan was a student at Westfields Sports High School in Fairfield West before the age of 16 and left Australia at West Ham United signed a contract after he impressed in tests. His league debut came in August 2004 against Crewe Alexandra. After two more mandatory wagers for West Ham it was first awarded in March 2005 to the end of the season at the Milton Keynes Dons and then left the club in Milton Keynes for the entire 2005/06 season. From West Ham he was released after this loan deal from his contract and McClenahan was with Hereford United a new club in League Two.

McClenahan was able to fight for a regular place on the right back position and came up with 30 appearances in his first season at Hereford. At the beginning of the season 2007 /08 he lost several times his place for his participation in international matches with the Australian Olympic team, but was in December again permanently in the core team, finishing with the club at the end of the season third in the promotion to the Football League One enough. A new contract offer from Hereford let the Australians pass unanswered and therefore was without a club since July 2008. Mid-September 2008, he signed a one-year contract with Scottish club Hamilton Academical.

National

McClenahan was vice-captain of the Australian U-20 national team at the Junior World Championships in 2005 in the Netherlands, where he was employed at Vorrundenaus in all three games of the Australians. Subsequently, he was a regular in the Australian Olympic selection, the so-called Olyroos, used and eventually appointed to the squad for the 2008 Olympic Games. There he came upon Vorrundenaus in all three group games used in two of them he was in the starting lineup.
