Trhová Hradská

Trhová Hradská (Hungarian Vásárút, both literally means " Market Street ") is a city and a municipality in south-western Slovakia, with 2140 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It is located in Okres Dunajská Streda, which is a part of the larger administrative unit Trnavský kraj.

Geography

Trhová Hradská located on the Great Rye Island (part of the Slovak Danube lowland ), a river island between the Danube and the Little Danube, whose arm Klatovské rameno at the site flows past. The city center is 11 miles from Dunajská Streda and 32 kilometers from Galanta.

History

The village was mentioned in documents for the first time in 1245, when King Béla IV gave the location of the Bratislava Chapter. 1399 a place called Vyfalu is (ie " Neudorf " ) mentioned, then Vykwrth 1406. In the 16th century had the Count of St. Georgen and Bösing goods in the local area. 1553 are listed Porta 36. Since 1752 he was a market town. In 1828 the town had 147 houses and 1,047 inhabitants. In the wake of the revolutions of 1848/49 to the site a battle between the Honvéden and the imperial army occurred.

Until 1918/19, belonged to the county and in Pressburg the Kingdom of Hungary was then Czechoslovakia. 1938-45 he was on the basis of the First Vienna Award again to Hungary. 1960 Trhová Hradská with the neighboring Horne Mýto to the municipality Trhove Mýto (literally " market tolls ") was united, but in 1990, divided back to the previous communities.
