Tribeč

The Tribetzgebirge, also briefly Tribetz (Slovak Tribeč / Tríbeč ) is called an almost 50 km long and up to 18 km wide forested low mountain range in Slovakia.

It belongs to the Western Carpathians and runs from Nitra, starting to the northeast until it finally, at Veľké Pole, east of the city Partizanske, in the bird Mountains ( Vtáčnik, up to 1350 m). In the south and west of the mountain range comes close to the Danube River Hills, on the east by Pohronský Inovec. To the northeast lies the already mentioned Vtáčnik Mountains and north of the Upper Nitra boiler ( Hornonitrianska kotlina ).

Administratively, extends the mountains on the Okresy ( counties ) of Nitra, Zlaté Moravce Topoľčany and Partizánske.

The most important surveys are the Zobor ( 588 meters, just above the outskirts of Nitra ), Jelenec (~ 550 m) and Rázdiel as well as the center of the eponymous Velky Tribeč ( 829 m).
